Naav jhoola - the boat swing - at the top of its arc. The long carved boat tips up into an indigo sky full of birds, suns, moons and little clouds, and everyone on board is losing it: mouths wide open, arms in the air, a mother clutching her kid, two men at the high end hanging onto the pole. Half are screaming, half are laughing, and nobody can tell which half they are in.

Down below the mela carries on - stalls on both sides, a camel and a horse, families pointing up at the ride, banana trees and a wooden sign that reads Naav Jhoola. Drawn in Phad style in indigo, brick red, gold, sea green and cream, inside a blue flower border and a flat deep-blue edge.
