Size guide

Which size, and where it hangs

Every tale is printed to the size you choose. This page draws every size we print to scale, against the furniture it suits and against a six-foot person, so you can choose it before it is begun.

Four rules interior designers use

  1. Centre at eye level. The middle of the print sits about 57–60″ from the floor on a bare wall.
  2. Close to the furniture. Above a sofa, bed or console, leave 6–10″ between the furniture and the print, so the two read as one group.
  3. Two-thirds to four-fifths as wide. A print looks right at 66–85% of the width of the furniture below it — measured across its back, not its footprint.
  4. Under the door line. Keep the top of the print under 80″, the height of a standard door header. The largest sizes are statement pieces for a wall of their own.
